There is power attached to your purpose. This, whatever you’re going through now, is just a part of your itinerary, it’s meant to strengthen you but it’s not your final destination.
For the last few weeks I’ve posted to this blog about destiny, purpose, facing pressure while working towards life goals, and today’s post is of a similar vein. All of us are experiencing something, good or bad, that is pushing us towards accomplishing our life goals. Some of these are challenging and some are good and nicely distracting while others are propelling us like shooting stars, up, up and away until we hit that mark. Some of us are at that sweet spot and we feel like this feels so good we know are getting close to our destiny. Something tell us, however, that we’re not there yet. It gives us a hint of how it’s going to be and we can’t wait for that day to come.
Yup. We’re not there yet. For those who have been working towards this goal for a long time and for whom things are going good, you feel like you want to settle down already. You ask “Could things get better than this?” simply because the process can be so long and you are ready to relax! There are those for whom the dream feels like its going to be just that, a dream. You’re frustrated and feel like walking away. You’ve had enough of trying.
There’s something important that you and I need to know: if you’re here, it means that you were called. And if you were called, it means you were sent.
When this thought came to me, it was indeed a HaHa! moment. We may have heard it said that “What I am doing now or where I want to be, in my profession, or as an individual contributing to this existence, feels like a calling”. Or some may say, “Something inside of me, propels me and tells me that nothing else that I will choose to do will be as satisfying. Nothing will feel as good as this or gives me as much satisfaction. Though there are challenges /or there will be challenges, there’s nothing else I’d rather do”. I’m sure you have articulated this in some shape or form to someone or in a internal conversation.
You’re called. You know this when there is just something, spirit perhaps, a knowing inside of you that tells you that this is what you are meant to do. For those who are already there, you know what it feels like. Nothing comes as easy to you as performing this particular activity. You feel almost invincible when it comes to your passion. Some days may be hard, but you can’t imagine doing anything else. And you’ve tried others and some worked, for a little while but then feelings of restlessness, discomfort and dissatisfaction presented themselves.
If you were called, it means you were sent
When you are sent somewhere or to something, you are given a command, a charge. Being sent means you are endowed with authority to take hold of, to take charge of, to guide and direct. To possess. It means you have power over whatever you are given, to control and organize it purposefully. I know, as an adult and when I was a child, that when I go and do according to the authority of the one that sent me, it adds to the power that I have been endowed with. You speak, act and behave with authority because you KNOW, and it gives you the confidence you need, to get you to where you are going. For example, those who know that they have a particular ability and are working towards establishing themselves as an authority in that area, behave purposefully and powerfully. They know and acknowledge that there is a force, larger than themselves, that has aligned itself to ensuring that all things work together for that good.
Perhaps someone has released you by being that one word of encouragement or agreement you needed that one time. In the Bible, when Eli agreed with Hannah’s prayer (1st Samuel 1), it added fuel to her fire and she got her child. Sometimes we need someone to bless us by agreeing with us. It is said in Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them [ to bless]”. Having someone believing in us and in our dreams, seeing our passion and gifting us with their verbal support, can be just what is needed to put us in that right frame of mind.
Your destination is bigger than your now
Right now, you may not be where you want to be. Perhaps you feel you’ll never be where you want to be. Sometimes it feels like more of an impossibility than it is probable. Things may feel crappy but we need to look beyond our now, and see what possibilities there are. These experiences are meant to build us, to help us become our best selves.
We can’t allow ourselves to become distracted and discouraged, no matter how difficult it gets, because this is temporary and what is in store for us is bigger than whatever currently exists. There is a force at work behind the scenes that is undeniable, and once acknowledged, will not stop and cannot stop until what is meant to be, actualizes. 1 Corinthians 2:9 states “No eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived, the things God has prepared for those that love Him”.
The end was ordained from the beginning. Its bigger and better than you could ever imagine. Just agree and let it be.
